The place was much better than the pictures.
The house was old but very well maintained. Love the pool and washing machine. I love the view from the house and it was close to Kahalu beach and many other tourist places. There are beach matt, boogy board and many other items that we can use. I would def recommand this place!

We stayed as a family of 4 (two teenagers) for 5 nights. The place was very spacious. My teenagers were able to share a bedroom with their own beds and had their own bathroom. Our master bedroom was very comfortable once we figured out the A/C. The rooms were not pitch black for sleep but they were plenty dark for us. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, utensils, etc. A standard coffee pot so we bought coffee grounds. Not much for spices other than salt/pepper (no big deal to us as we only cooked eggs every morning). Plenty of towels for showering as well as beach towels and it was great having the washer/dryer as we used it several times. They provided laundry detergent, dish soap, TP, paper towels that lasted us our entire stay. They also provided beach chairs, umbrella, noodle, and boogie board; although it was too small for our adult sized boys so we ended up renting ones for $9 a day at Boss Frogs just a few miles down the road - really good deal. We would definitely stay here again!

The location was great, beautiful view. A short walk to the farmers market was awesome. The condo was clean and in good shape. Most everything we needed was supplied, at least a starter bit. The beach chairs, umbrellas, and snorkel gear were a nice surprise. We had a whistling sound the first 2 nights that we couldn't pin point that kept waking us up but maintenance came and fixed it and were very nice. Poop in the pool made our last night a bummer but we just shifted our family BBQ to a different location instead.

We loved staying in this condo. It was clean and comfortable and we wouldn’t change a thing. We traveled with two other families and ours was the nicest condo. Enjoyed the back patio with the sound of the surf. I’m a light sleeper and never had issues with sounds from other units. The hosts were professional and provided everything we needed. The gift bags were a nice touch. We highly recommend this unit. We did wish we could take longer walks on the beach but the landscape wasn’t conducive to that without driving elsewhere. Our favorite thing to do in the area was snorkeling at Kealakekua.

This unit was super clean and had a gorgeous ground level view of the ocean. Everyone here was friendly and again it was really clean. We could have used more garbage bags since you are required to take out your own trash. Also the TV is older and the Roku was pretty slow in working and the tv is 32”. Not big enough for enjoying a movie with a lot of family. However I would 100% stay here again. Very convenient location

The condo was so clean you could eat off the floor. The decor was amazing. We loved the hula lamp so much that we tracked down the artist in the mountains above Kona and purchased one of is unique scuplture lamps. Sunsets were incredible. The location could not have been better. Our grandkids loved the pool and surrounding grounds as did all of us. My wife and I have rented many properties over the year in Hawaii. This one definitely ranked as the best. The young lady that met us upon checkin was as sweet as could be and very professional. Service from the whole company was simply the best ever.

Great place to stay, enjoyed the pool, and listening to the waves crash from the lanai. We even saw some whales off the coast, I would happily book this rental again. Only minor issue was there was a car stored in the designated parking spot that wasn't communicated beforehand, but wasn't an issue as there were amble visitor parking spots.

We have stayed several times in the Condos just a few feet away from the Pacific Ocean in the Surf and Racquet Club. Truly a great experience. As we've gotten older, we desire to be on the ground floor and thus the views are not quite as good as those on the second and third floors, but still the views are very good -- especially if you walk or move chairs just a few feet up the berm and towards the ocean.

This condo was everything it was described as & better. On the front end a seemless booking process and timely communication throughout. Upon arrival a clean, comfortable & scenic space for our family island adventures. The walk out, waterfront location is very convenient to enjoy a short stroll or take in the incredible sunsets. Very little foot traffic so quieter than I anticipated for just sitting out on the lanai.

I don't think this condo should be rented while a loud remodel is going on next door, and plumbing pipes had been excavated and were in plain sight at the entrance. We were out almost all day, every day, so the inconvenience was minimized. The bathrooms are very dated and it is difficult to make them appear clean when grout and enamel is so old and deteriorated. Kitchen and supplies were adequate.

Love the this area, and have stayed at the Surf and Racquet club a couple of other times. This condo was ok, but think for the cost, I would choose a different one next time.
It was nice to have a fruit basket on arrival, but the condo was super hot, and needed to get cooled down, and it takes awhile with no AC. The kitchen was nice, but absolutely no condiments, not even salt and pepper. They did have a coffee grinder that worked though, which is great. The living room was nice, the dinning room table was not great... either the table was to high or chairs too short. Felt like I was a little kid eating at the table, plus the dining room light didn't work. Master bed was comfortable, which was a must. Didn't use the other rooms beds, so not sure on those. The master bath is pretty bad... sink all rusty, tile old, hole in drywall by washer/dryer. No stopper in sink. Other bathroom not much better. They had an old, severely rusted out fan in the living room that was just gross. The worst thing was I thought I was going to have a view of the water. You can see it on the lanai if your standing, or sitting at the bar high table, but if you are sitting in the condo you can't see it. There is a pretty steep grass knoll and small hedge directly out from the condo that blocks much of the view. Another thing I didn't like was Property Management company. I go on vacation to relax, they called me the 2nd day I was there wanting to come in to measure a tv in the other bedroom because it didn't work. I don't like people there when I am not, I have my computer and things there, I just don't like it. Plus we were just hanging out there relaxing. So, having to spend our time, letting the workers come in then and the next day to deliver it is just not right. These are things that should be done in between guests not during the stays. The only good thing was they took out that super nasty fan with them.
All and all, great area, ok condo, but for the price, not so goo

My friend and I had a lovely week at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club. The unit was spacious and two bedrooms/two baths and an updated kitchen. The unit was clean, with a well appointed kitchen with plenty of dishes, silverware and cooking utensils. The unit does not have air conditioning, but has plenty of overhead and stand up fans. The bathrooms were functional, but the master bath is in desperate need of an update. The sink is rusted and there is no drain stopper; the shower has mold at the bottom. Supplies were sparse; we ended up sharing the last roll of TP as only 2 extra rolls were left in the unit. The bath towels are very old and worn out. The master bed was comfortable; the twin beds in front bedroom were extremely uncomfortable so my friend slept on the sofa bed after a few nights. The complex swimming pool was delightful, water was very refreshing and there were plenty of chaise lounges.

Condo had beautiful views, and the furnishings and kitchen function well. We found it easy to get into downtown Kona and explore areas south as well. Great 2 beaches pretty close, one to snorkel and the other with nice sand. We loved our stay there and glad we went for the ocean side condo.

The kitchen, living room & patio were very well appropriated. The biggest complaint was the blinds in living room and master bedroom did not close (broken pulls). No privacy at all. The sink in master bath was rusty with no plug. Lots of mold and mildew in and around shower. The washing machine was rusted out. The TV was difficult to figure out. Tried to get help with blinds & was told by the manager that the problem was known but had not been able to fix. So why was it rented? The view was disappointing with a knoll obstructing everything but the horizon.

Great view, great for the price, really felt like home away from home. There's a roku installed to use for late night entertainment, nice back open porch that leads to the ocean, and a nice binder of all the activities you can do while on the island.

We had 9 days on the big island and our rental was excellent. The location was great and the amenities were everything we could want. The pool and tennis courts were perfect - quiet and leisurely.
We were able to get to the market easily and the downtown Kona area was a healthy 3 miles away just enough to keep us away from the noise and the crush of people but near enough to get to when we wanted to.
Snorkeling is excellent at the nearby beach where you can lay in the sun or sit in the shade of a palm tree.
The perfect place to stay to relax and to have activities to make your big island experience wonderful!!!!

Great location. Ocean in your back yard. The only thing between your unit and the ocean is a nice green lawn that you play frisbee, or catch with your kids on. Great shopping center less than 5 minutes away, also farmers market and fresh seafood vendors.

This is a lovely unit with a fantastic view of the ocean as you relax on the lanai. The unit was clean, spacious and homey. Surf and Racquet is a great complex that we have stayed at before. We think both the bathrooms (which were very clean) could use some updating, but overall a great place to call home for the week!

David and I had a wonderful stay . We were very lucky and had warm weather everyday . Our daughter and family were in the next building so we had fun the first week with them .
We loved the warm colors in the apartment and the bed is comfortable . Nice up to date kitchen .
My husband loves the pool . We love walking down to the beach and down the road to the snorkeling beach .
This was our third visit to the Kona Surf and Racquet Club .Hope to come next year .

Nice 2 bedroom/2 bath condo. No a/c was an issue during our stay. Property Manager Blake was very responsive to questions/concerns. I would consider staying at this property again, but not at this condo unit unless the owner installed quality sun blocking coverings on both full size sliding doors. The current vertical blinds do not work properly at all, and they cover the whole west facing glass wall, creating even hotter late afternoons/evenings. The condo was good other than that problem.

Kona-Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club has been our go-to place for years now. This unit was comfortably furnished. The updated kitchen worked well, though a bit sparsely stocked for cooking and eating in.

The condo was very nice, clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils & pans. The lanai was comfortable peaceful, and a wonderful place to relax and listen to the Pacific waves crashing on the rocks. An amazing view in early morning or evening. The only thing I might do differently is request a second floor condo so the the waves could be viewed.
Without air conditioning, the ceiling fans were not quite enough in the evening, but management brought fans ASAP which worked perfectly.

Very good location. Well stocked kitchen & great that there was a washer & dryer. A few problems when power went out. Fridge out but fixed wifi not able to fix right away. Some issues with cockroaches we were told its common this time of season. Have stayed at Surf & Racquet Club several times . Love the peace & quiet. Very good upkeep of grounds, security, & recreation facilities.

We were very pleased with this condo. Lanai was fabulous and overall unit layout & furnishings were very nice. There is a great bistro set which is newer than the outdoor furniture showed in this picture.

2 bedroom 2 bath oceanfront with fantastic views and sunsets. Very well equipped, comfortable and clean. Very well located by full service shopping center. Sam Choy and Kenichi restaurants very good, also down/ up the road were Annie's and Amici's both great for lunch. Would rent same again.

It was most relaxing. The condo and the resort were quiet, comfortable.

It was fantastic, kitchen was updated and lanai was a great place to play games or relax. Bathroom and laundry could use some upgrades. Lots of sand, beach, and water items available to use. Ceilings fans were a must in the hot evenings, needs a new portable fan (it is well used).

My family of 6 had a wonderful stay here. Our condo was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we could want. Tennis rackets, snorkeling gear, boogie boards. The location was perfect, we wanted to explore the whole island and this was a perfect local for that. Grocery was super close, town just down the road, but we felt like we could have peace and quiet too. It was perfect. We traveled to 3 islands and this was the most luxurious and the cheapest! We are coming back!

We've stayed in this condo a number of times, and always enjoy returning. We love the upgrades to the pool area (especially the conversion to salt water pool from chlorine treated), and were happy to see the new sliding glass doors in the unit. There are still a number of fairly minor maintenance/replacement issues which we'd like to see addressed, but overall a very nice unit. It is always clean when we arrive, and the manager is very helpful.

We stayed in this condo in November 2015, and loved it so much, we planned our May 2016 vacation around being able to stay here again. We really love everything about the condo - the colors, art, and decor are all beautiful. The location is fantastic - right on the ocean. We have breakfast every day on the lanai, and watch the ocean and the birds, which is awesome. Blake and Knutson & Assoc were very responsive when we phoned with a minor problem - it was fixed very quickly. The kitchen has everything we needed. Having a washer and dryer made our stay so easy. We LOVE this condo - it feels like home to us, and we will be back again!

We had a few maintenance needs the first day, and had a maintenance helper at the condo within a couple of hours after phoning the office. The condo was comfortable, supportive, fun, close to our favorite snorkel beach and stores. We hope to return to this condo next year.

We arrived on a hot and humid Thursday night and discovered the unit did not have air conditioner. There were ceiling fans in every room which help a little. Beside the heat and humidity, the fan in the master bedroom squeaked loudly throughout the night. We couldn't get any sleep for 4 nights. The shower in the second bedroom didn't work. We called and reported the problems the very next day. No repair man showed up. We called again the next day and were told the repair man will call. The repair man didn't show up until Monday! The fan was in such bad condition that he had to replace it. And he later came back and fix the shower. The unit was in a good location. It just needs some attention in maintenance details.

We were looking for a quick, last-minute getaway with our kids. It turned out to be just what we were looking for. Great location on Alii Drive, close to popular beaches but felt far away from the traffic. The condo is beautifully decorated, everything we needed, and clean. Local grocery store is less than 5 minutes up the road. We bbq'd, played volleybal with the family. Other guests we met were friendly and pool area was well kept. The only thing we could ask for was more fans in the unit. It gets hot in Kona. But the VIEW!! We loved listening to the ocean and the breeze and the birds. The rental agency were attentive and ensured we had a great time. We're definitely going back. Big Mahalos!

Excellent location for exploring the southern coast of Big Island. Roomy (good size), excellent facilities (pool and tennis court). Good to have access to snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach umbrella and tennis racquets. Poor sound proofing from the floor above so that you could hear people moving around was the only negative.

Wow! What a great location! Loved the whole complex, great staff, great pool!!
Loved the grass in front, as we could walk right out through the lanai with our coffee in the morning to the picnic table to look for dolphins, watch the boats and just enjoy the ocean! Great schools of Yellow Tangs were amazing for the whole family to see, even the one who didn't want to swim with them!!

Our family, me, my husband, and our two sons, (20 and 22) stayed 4 nights in this unit. When arriving, you must go through a gate and enter a code to be allowed in. We did have a bit of trouble finding the unit but once we did we were very pleased. Upon entering, we were very pleasantly surprised by the decor and view. It is beautifully furnished and both the living area and master have sliding doors onto an oceanside lanai. You are separated from the ocean by just a few feet of grass and a walkway. This is not a location that you can enter the water or swim. The condo is set above the water on a lava cliff but it is beautiful to look at and swimming/snorkeling beaches are nearby. You will definitely need to have a car here. The condo is a few miles south of Kailua Kona as well as beaches, shopping, etc. There is no AC but there are 4 ceiling fans. During our stay it did get a bit warm inside. I think a few extra floor fans would help. It was very quiet and we rarely saw anyone during our stay. I suspect this complex is mostly used for vacationers with very few permanent occupants.

The location was wonderful. Accommodations great and location central to activities on the island.

exceptional. If you would like to do some site seeing or simply
would like to go into town a car is a must. The bus service is very limited.

Ample space for the whole family, close to everything you will need but away from the bustle if you are looking for a retreat. Didn't want for anything in the kitchen, and included beach stuff!!! Arrived on a day a local farmers market was close by, there are great beaches nearby and it's a good launching pad to check out the other side of the island, be aware if you are travelling with young ones, it's a long drive to the other side. Thank you it was a brilliant holiday enhanced by great accommodation.

The condo was large and spacious for all 5 of us and we could even fit one more in. The lani for just watching the sunset or having breakfast at the table while listening to the ocean was great. Small birds came in the morning and and some cats during the night time came by to see us. We left the screen doors open since no AC which helped me get acclimated for the race. We listen to the waves pound the rocks at night. Added bonus was the bin of snorkeling equipment that was used at the beach not far from the condo. Some minor electrical problems during our stay. We LOVED it!

perfect place for family gatherings....large deck, large table, and lots of chairs! 4-year old grandson loved rolling down the grassy bank, which also made a perfect place for star gazing.

We were booked in a townhouse right on the beach, but were bumped due to the other tenant's mixup on dates. Nick did accommodate us nicely with a larger condo, though would have preferred the location of the other unit since better views of the beach, but we were quite happy with the condition of the condo we stayed in enjoyed the lovely sunsets from the lanai. Tastefully decorated and a comfortable bed.

My husband and I spent 10 days in Kona at the Surf and Racquet Club. It was fabulous. The condo unit was ground level so you could walk out and see the ocean a few feet away and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks all night. We BBQ'd, swam in the pool and watched tennis. We don't play tennis but there plenty of people that did. Also noticed that lessons were available. Great eating places within walking distance. Marina for rentals and of course a 10 minute walk to the snorkling beach. We will be back some day. We are actualy from West Kelowna. Spelling error.

When we first arrived at our condo it was dark and it was not clear that we were in building 2 unit 103. After we called Nick, who was very helpful we found our unit and we were so pleased!
The decor was exactly like I would have done myself. Very island feeling and tasteful. Felt like a big aloha hug. We opened the doors and listed to the surf all night. So amazing. We loved the quietness of being off of Alii Drive. Although we were steps away. There is a grocery store and a farmers market 1/4 mile away. The neighbors were friendly and the pool was big and clean. Some of the island's best snorkeling is walking distance from the unit.

Just an amazing 2 weeks in paradise! Highly recommended. Good for families with kids too.

Overall, we had a very nice experience. There were a couple of relatively minor issues which kept this from being an all-around five-star vacation. First, we prefer a ground-floor location for ease of access to the grassy area - but, unfortunately, had VERY noisy upstairs neighbors. They had a baby which they let cry for 30 minutes at a time all through the night! It would be nice not to have to trade off access for sleep! We also had to contact the property manager to get a pool key and have a repair made which was reported prior to our arrival. They were very responsive, but it would have been nice for these items to have been taken care of without our needing to call. This is our second visit to KKSR 2103, and we will definitely be back again.
