Welcome to Surf Temple Cottage! This Unique property is location on the Mauka (mountain) side of Ali'i Drive. Surf Temple features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & the floor plan has 2 separate living areas! Enjoy ocean sunsets all year by crossing the street and using the public access to a lovely partial sandy beach area.
Very much a Bungalow Style Beach home. The highly desirable Hawaiiana style lava rock walls enhance this home's special vintage charm.
The Main house has a spacious Bedroom, and the Bathroom has a gorgeous Walk in Shower. The Second bedroom has its own entrance allowing separation for privacy. Great for couples who like their own space!
Located near Keauhou shopping center making any of life's demands convenient. Just 2 minutes to Kahalu'u beach which is known for it's surf and snorkel fun!

This property so nice I preferred staying instead of driving to see more sights on the island. It was great fun to sit in the lanai in the morning and evening. Also the landscaping was gorgeous, and the home interior was wonderful. Bed was comfortable and all ceiling fans worked. Lots of sliding glass doors, each with screen doors to keep the bugs out and let the cool night air in. I even enjoyed the laundry room — modern washer and dryer for refreshing our travel clothes. Shower was spacious and hot. Everything in the kitchen worked.
It was easy to sleep with windows open and fans on in March, and we are from Michigan where we like it cool.
The front gate can be closed to give the feeling of more security since the screen doors don’t lock (wouldn’t help much if they did). Irrational on my part, but aren’t we all ... never mind.
The beach was easily accessible across the street for nightly sunsets. No sand. Just lava rocks and no safe way into the water unless you know what you are doing. A public beach for all including surfers is just a few minutes walk down the road. Rocky bottom though so come with water shoes, or a pain tolerance.
Lots of geckos crawl on the roof of the lanai, at least in March. They were fun. One fell on the chair one day. But some who might have a phobia of small lizards might not like it. They have gorgeous markings.
The daytime birds sounds were fun. And early to late evening was another sound that I liked, at least until later in the week when I learned what they really were. You won’t see one unless you hunt for the little guys in the garden. Google coqui if you don’t know them, but I’d recommend waiting until at least your second day. It’s more fun that way.
Knutson and Associates were easy to work with. All online with a signed contract. I did get nervous and called once just to see it’s not run by r
