The Magic Sands Retreat is a quaint 3 bedroom/2 bath cottage just around the corner from the famed Magic Sands Beach and the Ali'i Drive beach corridor. Just a 10 minute walk to the most popular beach in Kona!
This upgraded home shows attention to detail with an artists touch with many tasteful upgrades throughout including remodeled kitchen, bathrooms, flooring & Air Conditioning!
The home is nestled in the middle of tropical and mature landscaping. Enjoy the sounds of local birds in the trees. Although modestly sized, this home offers several areas for entertaining, reading a book or soaking up the sun.
The home offers easy access to Magic Sands Beach through a public deeded access trail. Great for a morning swim or playing in the surf.
Immediately upon walking in, you'll be greeted by a fully equipped kitchen adjacent to the Living Area. Kitchen features granite countertops, gorgeous cabinetry, Large Island, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, Stove/Oven!
The Living Area is comfortable, dining available at the Island or the Dining Table. Split Air Conditioning System Available in the Living Room & All Bedrooms have Wall AC units!
Cable TV & High Speed Wifi Internet are featured in the property. TV in the Living Room!
One of the guest bedrooms is featured as a Media room with a Sofa that pulls out & has a Television/Air Conditioning.
The Master Bedroom has a Queen Sized Bed, Wall Air Conditioning Unit, and Private Bathroom with a Walk in Shower.
The Guest Bedroom that goes to the Lanai features a Queen Sized Bed & a Wall Air Conditioning Unit
Washer/Dryer Available for Guest Use at the home as well!

We loved staying here for our time in Kona. The home was comfortable and spotless and the location was perfect. There were lots of beach supplies and we cooked dinner at the house most nights. The air conditioning is definitely a plus.

The Magic Sands Retreat was everything we wished for, needed, and more, to make our Kona stay wonderful. The home and outdoor area are beautiful!
Located in a quiet neighborhood, it is conveniently near Magic Sands beach and Alii Drive (walkable to the beach).
Well stocked kitchen, plenty of quality linens, and all the beach and water amenities needed, including a fold-up wagon to transport them to the water's edge.
The welcome gift of local products was tasteful and appreciated.
We accepted the offer of an in-person check-in as we had not been to Kona in 3 decades, and appreciated the friendliness and local information given by Melissa!
Vacation rental management staff very quick to respond to questions before and after booking. Excellent service.
HIGHLY recommended, would love to stay here again!

With less than 5 min walk to Magic Sands Beach the perfect location. Close to Alii Drive (main drag) and just far enough away to retreat and relax at the end of the day. This home was recently remodeled, and it shows. Everything you need for a day at the beach is also there. The yards surrounding the property are amazing and full of plant and bird life. As a bonus, few friendly geckos help keep the mosquito population down. Just great.

We found the home very nicely appointed and very clean. Located on a nice street and very quiet! Driveway has just enough room for 2 cars. I would not say it's centrally located, being about 15 min drive from down town, but probably much quieter than a down town location. There are no 'real' restaurants within walking distance for example. It's a few minutes walk to the beach, but that's really just a nice bonus and not really a major benefit as the beach is small and quite rocky. It's fun to see the sunset there, but don't expect to spend a day a the beach there. Only small issue we had was we could not get some of the power outlets working. The issue was never resolved. Note that 3rd bedroom (with 2 beds) is really not technically a bedroom as it has no closet. Overall we loved it and these small points are just to provide information and not meant to be complaints.

We had a wonderful stay at the Magic Sands Retreat. The location is perfect. A short walk to the beach is a big feature, we loved that.
When we arrived we found the house immaculate, that is a big plus for my family. The management team is helpful and well informed regarding the area and the home. The kitchen is well equipped and has large counter space. The house has air conditioning in all of the rooms so it's easy to be comfortable.
This was our third year staying in this home and we are looking forward to next year.

Very nice, well kept, three bedroom house. I can confirm the third bedroom now has two twin beds. Lots of room for everyone inside and the outside decks are great for relaxing and having meals. Plenty of equipment for snorkeling and just hanging at the beach.

Great location. Beautiful home. The back porch is amazing and feels so private with all of the trees and plants. Lovely for hanging out on. Rooms are nice size, showers are good and water pressure is strong. Kitchen is FILLED with stuff to cook with and store food in. If you like to cook, this place has everything you’ll need, maybe even 2 of each!
Beds were comfortable and even when we had an issue, they reached out to manage it quickly.
Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. If you have good mobility, the walk to the beach is relatively easy, even with a couple hills.

The Magic Sands Retreat Hale was our last stay during a bucket list vacation for our family of 5. We stayed at a hotel resort during our stay at Waikiki on Oahu, in a Vrbo condo on Maui, and finally at this house on the Big Island. Of the three different lodgings during our vacation, the Magic Sands Retreat was our favorite. Communication from Knutson & Associates was excellent throughout the booking process and stay. They even surprised us with a wonderful welcome basket upon arrival. The house was beautiful, and its immaculate landscaping makes it feel like it is isolated from surrounding houses. It is a short walk to Magic Sands Beach and very convenient to other Kona area locations. We did day trips to Hilo and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. I highly recommend this property and the Knutson & Associates Property Management & Real Estate Sales team.

We rented a small house from Knutson & Associates for our 18 day vacation and it was Awesome! Beautiful house, fully equipped for all of our needs. Beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas and more.
The kitchen is well equipped and easy to work in. The house is on a quiet street with very little traffic. The yard is beautifully maintained with fully grown vegetation making it almost jungle like.
One great feature, you can walk to Magic Sands Beach in mere minutes, perfect for sunsets, morning swims and relaxing.

The house was amazing! The three bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect for our family. The kitchen was spacious and had all the cookware and dishes needed. The outdoor living area was perfect for meals and relaxation. The landscaping was beautiful and we even enjoyed some papaya from the tree in the front yard. Location was perfect. We enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage. Not far away from Magic Sands Beach (walking distance less than 5 minutes). Most attractions on the Kona coast can be reached by car within half an hour. We loved to do the manta ray snorkeling night trip. Shopping and grocery are close and easily accessible by car. As a group of 6 we recommend the house, as there is enough space for sleeping. We used the BBQ nearly all days. Dining inside cause of rain was a little narrow, but this is complain at the highest level. Washing machine and dryer is on the patio of the home. All rooms are modern and nicely furnished. Communication with the owner was uncomplicated and answered in a few hours.
We would highly recommend the property and if we will be aible to come back to Hawaii we would definitively book again.

We’ve stayed other places but really liked this home. The layout was perfect for a family of 6, any concerns were dealt with immediately, it was very clean and convenient.

We really enjoyed this home and felt we should have stayed longer. The home is situated in a quiet neighborhood and very well kept. The surroundings landscaping is just breath taking and very well maintained. The patio is very well furnished and makes it a great spot to enjoy the outdoors.
The house was very well equipped with supplies including beach stuff. Truly appreciate the effort that the owners have put into making this house a pleasant vacation home.
The housekeeping and management team was very responsive and prompt to address questions. So much better experience as compared to a hotel hospitality honestly.
I would certainly go back, rent for a longer time for sure.

The house has recently been completely redone. The kitchen is well equipped and nothing has been left out. There are two bedrooms and a den with a large screen television. The bedrooms and the den have AC units. There are ceiling fans throughout the house. The yard is beautifully landscaped with lovely tropical trees and ferns. There are spacious lanais (decks) on both the front and back of the house. The back lanai is absolutely beautiful. There are many chairs, tables and cushions and a barbecue grill. In a cabinet located on the back lanai you will find snorkeling equipment and beach matts. There are boogie boards and beach umbrellas along the back wall.
For us the best part was the location, a no outlet street, yet walkable to the Magic Sands Beach. This is by far the best place we have ever stayed at in over 15 years! We Loved our stay at the Magic Sands Retreat Hale.

Magic Sands Retreat was the perfect spot for our extended Hawaiian vacation. We wanted an at-home experience, and the well-equipped kitchen made it easy to cook and enjoy meals on the expansive lanai. The property was spotless when we arrived, and the management company was accessible and very responsive. A car is a must to fully explore all the restaurants of Kailua-Kona and the northern beaches, but there are also local options. Every detail has been thought through, and there is everything you need to enjoy a day at the beach, cocktails on the lanai, morning coffee, or a BBQ. I would recommend this property to family and friends.

The house and outdoor verandas were very clean, nicely decorated, charming. The grounds were lovely, a variety of flowering tropical trees, shrubs and plants plus many potted plants on the lanai. Location was perfect, close to beach but in a nice quiet neighborhood. Everything you need was provided in kitchen, bath, etc. We especially appreciated the beach towels and boogie boards, snorkeling gear, coolers to use during our stay. We originally planned for 6 of us but ended up with only 4, which was a perfect number for this rental. Tight quarters for more than 4.
